As Election Day crept closer, both candidates ramped up their campaigns and for Donald Trump, that meant making a stop in St. Augustine, a decidedly Republican city. This video was part of won a Society of Professional Journalists Region 3 Mark of Excellence award for Best Use of Multimedia. I shot and edited the video, in addition to writing a story.

The Black Raven Pirate Ship sticks out from the St. Augustine Municipal Marina unlike any other vessel at its docks. The ship is a St. Augustine staple, just as much as those who work on board. They dress and act like pirates as their day job and often can be found roaming around town off the clock, still in costume and still in character.

I co-produced this video with a classmate about Captain Oly, one of the pirates who works aboard the Black Raven. I interviewed Captain Oly, shot B-roll and assisted in editing for this project.

To honor St. Augustine’s rich civil rights history, several groups within the community came together to create The Chimes Project, an interactive art exhibit at Robert B. Hayling Freedom Park. I created this package that goes into how the exhibit came to be and why its important to the community. I shot, edited and interviewed for this video.

Once Hurricane Irma swept through St. Augustine, I returned to the city to capture video of the damage done to the area. It was a quick, effective way to demonstrate to the audience the impact the storm had on the city. I shot and edited this video.

In light of increasingly heavy traffic in St. Augustine, one resident proposed his own idea and created a water taxi service as an alternative to vehicular travel. I interviewed, shot some B-roll and assisted in editing for this project.

Similar to the above video on Hurricane Irma, this video was designed to show viewers the damage done to St. Augustine. On the Flagler College Gargoyle Facebook page, this video reached 8,500 views. I shot and edited this video.

The sweet heat of the datil pepper is one of St. Augustine’s favorite ingredients, and it spices up dishes throughout the city. Co-producer Courtney Cox and I learned more about those who grow the pepper, cook with it, and sell it in this video. I interviewed, shot some B-roll and assisted in editing on this project.

In order to reach students more directly, I produced this one-minute video designed for social media. The video quickly sums up the ins and outs of a new internal visitation policy proposal that would change the way students of the opposite sex visit each other’s dorms on campus. I interviewed, shot, wrote and edited everything for this video.
